Liverpool’s Salah wishes to meet Real Madrid again at the Champions League final

Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is wishing to face Real Madrid again at the final of the UEFA Champions League in order to take revenge after losing to the Spanish giant in the 2018 final

Real Madrid lost in the first leg semifinal against Manchester City 3-4, but they still have a chance to qualify for the final, especially since they will be playing at home.

Liverpool, who have the chance to clinch the quadruple this season, secured their seat in the final after defeating Villarreal 5-2 in aggregate, though they will have a tough clash in the Premier League next Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur.

“Qualifying to the final for three times in the last five years is great, we all are happy. We will celebrate today, and tomorrow we will concentrate on Tottenham’s game,” Salah told BT Sport after qualifying for the final of the Champions League.

“I always give the team everything. We won one championship, we are in the FA Cup final and the final of the Champions League. I know what I want at the end of the season. Our goal is the quadraple. We want the league and the Champions League,” he added.

The Reds defeated Villarreal 2-0 at home last week. In the away game on Tuesday, they came back from being two goals behind for nearly 60 minutes before returning with three goals to book a deserved seat in the final.

“It was hard in the first half but the coach has talked to us, and we have talked to each other. We are a great team so we knew how to return and that makes winning even more exciting,” said Salah.

The 29-year-old winger who has scored 30 goals and provided 15 assists until now in the current season revealed that he put an aim for himself ahead of the season of scoring 40 goals and making 10 assists.

“I want to face Real Madrid at the final. They have defeated us once so we have to face them again,” Salah concluded.

The Egyptian winger left the 2018 final against Madrid early after their then-skipper Sergio Ramos tackled him violently by grabbing Mo’s arm, leaving him with a serious shoulder injury that prevented him from resuming the game. The injury would continue to affect his performance with the national team at the 2018 World Cup.
